Who Is Bakir?

Bakir is a member of Brencis's inner circle — one of three ancient vampires each granted dominion over a region of Vale Sangora. These lieutenants collect the blood tax from the human population, command the blood guards who enforce it, and answer to Brencis, the Roman-era vampire lord who rules from Greifberg Castle.

Bakir's standout detail is his animation. Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jan Błachowicz performed motion capture for the character, lending genuine fighting technique to his attacks. The developers highlight this as part of their commitment to immersive, weighty melee — even for a mythical creature of the night, combat stays realistic, and staying alert is the difference between life and death.

Bakir first appeared in the January CGI reveal trailer in Brencis's court, alongside Xanthe and Ambrus. His mortal backstory, exact territory, and relationship to Brencis are TBC — not officially confirmed yet.

Where and When You Fight Bakir

Like the other lieutenants, Bakir rules a defined region of the valley, and the narrative sandbox lets Coen enter any territory from the start of the 30 days. The confirmed pattern — set by the Xanthe encounter in Svartrau's cathedral — is that these rulers are confronted in their strongholds, typically at night in vampire form, and are often guarded by blood guards.

How to Beat Bakir: Confirmed Framework

No official gameplay of the Bakir duel has been released, so his phases, ability names, and damage numbers cannot be claimed. What is confirmed is the combat system every boss uses, and Błachowicz's mocap hints at a bruiser who pressures you with authentic strikes:

• Read attack directions. Both sword and claw combat use four-directional attacks and blocks. Omniblocks and omniattacks automate the choice for a story-friendly run; full directional control rewards players who observe, parry, and riposte on the exact opening. Against a physically dominant fighter like Bakir, mistimed blocks drain stamina fast.
• Break stamina, then punish. As shown against Xanthe, powerful vampires can enter a protected state where hits accomplish little until stamina breaks, opening a short damage window. Do not overextend — counterattacks are the danger.
• Manage Blood Hunger. Night fights mean Coen's craving is at its peak. Feed on defeated foes or carry blood vials; losing control can end the run or kill an important story character.
• Spend Activation Charges wisely. Successful attacks, blocks, and parries build charges for Active Abilities — including the Burning Blood hex and the Artery Attack finisher that can decapitate a weakened enemy.
• Use mobility to reposition. Shadowstep, Clawride, and Planeshift turn rooftops and walls into roads, helping you create space from a relentless close-range fighter — though switching to night costs time on the 30-day clock.

Can You Fight Bakir Early?

The game has no level gates. Rebel Wolves has shown that both the Xanthe fight and a direct assault on Greifberg Castle can be attempted immediately after the prologue — brutally hard, but allowed. Regional difficulty locks the first time you enter an area, so an early Coen walks into endgame threats with day-one tools.

You can therefore march on Bakir's territory early for a hardcore challenge, or spend several in-game days gaining abilities and allies first. Only difficulty stands between you and the fight.

• Respect the stamina game. A mocapped brawler will punish blocked heavy blows; manage your defenses and do not trade into protected states.
• Enter the fight fed and stocked. Blood vials and a fed Blood Hunger meter prevent a disastrous loss of control mid-duel.
• Clear the guards first. Blood guards are the opening stamina tax — plan for dual-wielded weapons before the boss engages.

Is Bakir a main story boss? The developers say there is no difference between main and side quests — only how you weave Coen's story. Bakir can be central to your run or avoided entirely.

Is the fight mandatory? No. As one of Brencis's three lieutenants, Bakir guards a path toward the vampire lord, but the open narrative lets you choose which rulers to confront, including rushing Greifberg Castle directly.
