The Blood of Dawnwalker: All 7 Endings and How to Get Them

Updated 6 min read

This guide draws on official information from Rebel Wolves and Bandai Namco for The Blood of Dawnwalker (released September 3, 2026). Sections marked as unconfirmed reflect details that are not yet officially verified.

The Blood of Dawnwalker has seven endings. Four of them are tied to mutually exclusive trophies, but you do not need four playthroughs to get them — one run plus a well-placed manual save is enough. This guide lists all seven endings, explains what triggers each, and lays out the exact save point that lets you collect every ending trophy in a single 30-day run.

Mild structural spoilers follow. Specific dialogue lines are avoided, but ending names and trigger conditions are discussed openly.

Three of these — Folk Hero, Patricide, Knyazmaker — sit inside the final quest and separate purely by the choices you make there. Turncoat branches earlier and harder. The two early endings cut the story short on purpose. Time Runs Out is the failure state.

How to Get Every Ending in One Playthrough

This is the part that saves you twenty hours. The endings are decided by dialogue choices inside the final quest, A Deal with the Devil, which means you can rewind to just before it and take each branch in turn.

The route:

  1. In the prologue, give Esme the correct medicine. This is an early point of no return and it gates part of the later branching.
  2. Anger and defeat all three vampire lieutenants — Ambrus, Bakir, and Xanthe — to build notoriety and receive the parley message. Our court activities page covers how to trigger each lieutenant's boss quest.
  3. Make a manual save immediately before starting A Deal with the Devil. Do not overwrite it. This is your hub.
  4. Play the finale, take one ending, watch the credits, then reload the hub save and take the next branch.

The game gives you 54 manual save slots, which is more than enough headroom to keep a dedicated pre-finale save untouched while you cycle branches. Use a slot you will recognise later and leave it alone for the rest of the run.

Do not rely on autosaves

Autosaves rotate and can overwrite the state you need. Make a deliberate manual save before the final quest and treat that slot as read-only until you have every ending you want.

Four endings carry their own trophies and are mutually exclusive within a single timeline — but reloading resets the timeline, so the trophy list is fully achievable from one playthrough. See our trophies and achievements page for how they sit in the wider list.

Turncoat: The Ending That Skips the Boss

Turncoat is the outlier. Instead of confronting Brencis, Coen turns his coat and sides with him — and taking that branch lets you skip the final boss fight entirely.

That makes Turncoat the fastest ending in the game and a genuinely useful stop on your save-scum tour: grab it first from your hub save, since it costs the least time, then reload and fight the finale properly for the others. It is also the clearest demonstration that this is not a story with one true path — the game will let you hand the valley to its villain.

Folk Hero, Patricide, and Knyazmaker

These three are the "normal" conclusions. You reach the finale the intended way, defeat Brencis in Greifberg Castle, and the ending you get depends on how you resolve the confrontation in dialogue.

Your ally matters here too: Lacra or Crake can join you for the final fight, depending on which branch of the story you followed. That companion split is one of the things that makes the finale feel different across reloads even when the arena is the same.

Prep for Brencis himself is in our Brencis final boss guide. If you are optimising the run, the one playthrough page covers what else can be folded into a single 30 days.

The Two Early Endings

Both early endings end the story before the finale, and both are easy to miss because nothing pushes you toward them.

  • A Hero They Deserve — Coen leaves Vale Sangora rather than seeing the fight through. The valley gets the hero it deserves, which is not the same as the one it needed.
  • Together Forever — a dream-path conclusion rather than a waking one. It resolves the emotional thread instead of the political one.

Neither requires you to have beaten the lieutenants, which makes them cheap to collect. The exact prompts that surface them are best taken from your hub save, so you do not spend real story time hunting them mid-run.

Time Runs Out: The Failure Ending

Time Runs Out triggers when the 30-day clock expires before you resolve the story. It is the bad ending, and it is the only one you can reach passively.

Two things make it less brutal than the marketing implied. First, the main storyline can be completed in roughly 7 to 10 in-game days, so the deadline is generous if you are not exhaustively sweeping the valley. Second, the world remains playable after the deadline passes — running out of time does not eject you from your save.

If you want this ending for completion, the practical approach is the same as the others: park a save, let the clock run out from a late point, then reload. Clock mechanics are broken down in time limit explained.

Points of No Return

A few choices close doors permanently within a timeline. Save before each if you care about outcomes:

  • Esme's medicine in the prologue. An early, irreversible call that feeds into later branching.
  • Ocha and Constantin — kill or spare. Both decisions stick.
  • The Font of Life. Three mutually exclusive rewards; you take one and lose the other two for that timeline.

Save before every named decision

With 54 slots available, there is no reason to be frugal. A manual save before each of the three points above turns irreversible choices into reversible ones.

Endings FAQ

How many endings are there? Seven confirmed.

How many are trophy-linked? Four, and they are mutually exclusive in a single timeline — but reloading a pre-finale save gets you all of them in one playthrough.

Do I need to beat all three lieutenants for every ending? No. The early endings and Time Runs Out do not require it; the standard finale endings do.

Is Turncoat the shortest route? Yes, since it can bypass the final boss fight.

Does anything carry over to a second playthrough? TBC — not officially confirmed yet.

Does the ending change what happens to Coen's family? Family fates are woven into the finale, but the precise per-member outcome for each of the seven endings is TBC — not officially confirmed yet.
